About
Alanna Sibrián is a Salvadoran-American bilingual actor, dancer, singer/songwriter, choreographer, writer, and translator who is a proud member of The Actor’s Equity Association (AEA). She was born and raised right outside of Washington D.C. in the DMV area. She received her professional dance training from CityDance Conservatory in Bethesda, MD since the age of 4, under the direction of Founding Artistic Director and Meritis Lorraine Spiegler. A recent graduate of The NYU Tisch School of the Arts (‘24), Alanna received her BFA in Drama and a Minor in Creative Writing in Spanish with a concentration in bilingual scriptwriting. She hopes to create bilingual theatre and film for the latino community throughout her career.
Alanna received her primary acting training from The Meisner Studio at the NYU Tisch Schools of the Arts. She studied under renowned Meisner Technique teachers Victoria “Vicki” Hart and Karen Chamberlain, as well as Ana Cristina “Gigi” Buffington for Voice & Text, Shanga Parker for Suzuki, Kana Sato-Colla and Michelle Uranowitz for Williamson Technique, Steven Eng for Accents and Dialects, and Zachary Fine and Chris Tramantana for Clown. During her time at the Meisner Studio, she also had the honor of working with outside directors for two advanced training productions: Caroline Neff of Steppenwolf Theatre Company, and Rutger’s University Alum Neal Gupta. Alanna continued her advanced training in the Stonestreet Studios Residency Program, studying under Michael Warner, Cormac Bluestone, Rebecca Yarsin, and more.
During her final semester at NYU, Alanna moved back home to star in her first regional equity production as the titular lead role of the TYA show Cinderella: A Salsa Fairytale at Imagination Stage. Since graduating, Alanna has continued to work as an actor at various DC theaters, as well as teach and choreograph for different schools such as CityDance Conservatory and Studios, and The Madeira Dance Company.
Additionally, in September of 2023, Alanna released her first debut single, Talitha Cumi, which she performed at BeLove Church’s 1st Birthday in Washington, DC. This then led her on to write her first debut album, Before I Let Go, with local producers Jonathan Murdick and Jago Prates. The indie, pop, christian album dropped in July of 2024, featuring songs like Talitha Cumi, Congrats, and Pawn.
Most recently, Alanna was a part of The Signature Theatre’s box office record breaking production of In The Heights, Directed by James Vasquez and Choreographed by Shani Talmor, where she played Yolanda in the ensemble, and covered Vanessa.
